The Club team is of and running in its fall season. On September 1 we hosted the McGill University varsity team at Dorset Park in South Burlington. It was a productive exhibition with a ice breaking barbecue between games. We hope to make it an annual event.

On this past Saturday (September 7) we hosted our first NECBA games of the season when Babson College came to Centennial for a double header. Our pitching was solid as we won both ends of the doubleheader  9-3 and 10-0.

In the first game Tyler Jones, junior from Montgomery, NY and Monte Green, freshman from Underhill, VT combined in pitching us to victory. Our defense was strong with 1 error. We were led in hitting by Chris Kenseth, junior from  Montpelier, VT Brendan Hackett, junior from  Bellows Falls, VT and Steve Blout, senior from Duxbury, MA with multiple hits.

In the second game our pitching dominated with Steve Blout, and Jeff Newman, junior from South Burlington combining for the shutout. Dave DiMarco, junior from Madison, CT lead the Club Cats with 2 hits.

Our next games are at Harvard on Saturday the 14th.

The Club Team travelled to Lynn, MA Saturday to play in the annual NECBA Showcase. This event brings together a great majority of the 20 teams in the league and over 2 days of baseball each team plays doubleheaders. In our first game we played Three Rivers College from Connecticut. In a very competitive game we prevailed 7-3. Tyler Jones pitcher a complete game giving up 5 hits, 3 earned runs while striking out 5. Players with multiple hits were Dave Seeber (Strafford, CT), Chris Bernard (Corning, NY) and Dave DiMarco (Madison, CT). Defensive standouts were shortstop Monte Green (Underhill, VT) third baseman Lawrence Halvorson (Charlotte, VT) and catcher Brendan Hackett (Bellows Falls, VT). In the second game, after some serious tunnel batting practice, between games, we came out mashing and won in a 5 inning mercy rule game 14-2. Jeff Newman (South Burlington, VT) pitched solid 4 innings for the win. Players with multiple hits were Dave S., Dave D., Chris B., Monte. Lawrence H. and Mike Berkley (Boxborough, MA). With a 5-1 record we host Dartmouth College in a doubleheader at historic Centennial Field on Sunday (the 29th) at noon.

falling behind 6-1 we rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the
