The Club team is of and running in its fall season. On September 1 we hosted the McGill University varsity team at Dorset Park in South Burlington. It was a productive exhibition with a ice breaking barbecue between games. We hope to make it an annual event.
On this past Saturday (September 7) we hosted our first NECBA games of the season when Babson College came to Centennial for a double header. Our pitching was solid as we won both ends of the doubleheaderĀ 9-3 and 10-0.
In the first game Tyler Jones, junior from Montgomery, NY and Monte Green, freshman from Underhill, VT combined in pitching us to victory. Our defense was strong with 1 error. We were led in hitting by Chris Kenseth, junior fromĀ Montpelier, VT Brendan Hackett, junior fromĀ Bellows Falls, VT and Steve Blout, senior from Duxbury, MA with multiple hits.
In the second game our pitching dominated with Steve Blout, and Jeff Newman, junior from South Burlington combining for the shutout. Dave DiMarco, junior from Madison, CT lead the Club Cats with 2 hits.
Our next games are at Harvard on Saturday the 14th.
