The UVM ClubTeam continues to have a successful season on and off the field. We are currently 9-1 and have the most wins of any team in the NECBA.  This past Saturday we split with a very good UNH team.

As one of our players said after the doubleheader, "we probably should have won the first game and lost the second one". Actually the opposite was true. We lost the first one 1-3 despite a very well pitched game by Ryan Connor (St. Albans, VT). We squandered many chances and couldn't come up with the key hit.

In the second game we were behind 2-7 in the bottom of the 7th and came up with 6 runs to walk off with a 8-7 win. Key relief pitching came from Drew Gallant (Wenham, MA) Dave Caye South Windsor, CT)  and Zac Streeter (Westminster, VT). Key at bats in the 7th came from Jacob Sprague (Randolph, VT), Jordan Shustack (Boyertown, PA), Kane Curtin (New Canaan, CT), Connor Bradley (South Burlington, VT), Derrick Amodei (Carlisle, MA), Anthony Savatas (Windham, NY), Cassidy Moore (Colchester, VT) and Thomas Roberts (Brandon, VT)

We finish up the regular season on Saturday at UMass Lowell starting the first game of a doubleheader at noon on Ryan Field in Lowell.

Off the field the Club shows its caring for other people while donating blood at the local Red Cross Center next Monday and Tuesday.

The UVM Club team is off to a good start.

On September 10 at Historic Centennial Field we took on one of our strongest rivals, Franklin Pierce.

In the first game behind a superb pitching performance by Ryan Connor the Cats were victorious 13-0. Ryan (St. Albans, VT) struck out the first 9 batter and ended up with 13 strike outs in 6 innings and had a 1 hitter. Players with multiple hits were Ethan Illingsworth (Westminster, VT), Connor Bradley (S. Burlington, VT), Chris McAuliffe (Brattleboro, VT), Kane Curtin (New Canaan,CT)

In the second game of the doubleheader the CATS came from down 0-4 to win 8-4 with a 6 inning 5 run rally. Exceptional relief pitching was turned in by David Caye (S. Windsor, CT) and Drew Gallant (Wenham, MA). Big hits came from Luke Russell (Duxbury, VT )and "Big Dog" McAuliffe (Brattleboro, VT)

This past Saturday we took on the Big Green Club Team from Dartmouth at Maxfield Field in Hartford, VT. In another well pitched game by Ryan Connor and stellar relief pitching by David Caye and Drew Gallant we were victorious. Players with multiple hits were; Thomas Roberts (Brandon, VT), Big Dog McAuliffe, and Jake Levan (S. Burlington, VT). The CATS were victorious by  the score of 13-0.

In a very well played second game the CATS trailed 0-1 but came back to win 5-2 with 3 runs in the 6th inning. Exceptional pitching was tuned in by Luke Russell and Drew Gallant.
Run scoring hits were supplied by Bradley Chandler (Kingston, MA), Jacob Sprague (Randolph, VT) and Jake Levan.

This weekend we are in the annual NECBA Showcase in Lynn, MA facing Fairfield U Club Team, followed up with a game versus Harvard U Club Team.

The Club Team continues to play good baseball with solid hitting and timely hiiting. Last Saturday we beat a very good Fairfield team that had lost just one game this season by a score of 7-2. Ryan Connor (St. Albans) threw a complete game with 9 strikeouts. Key hits were contributed by Ethan Illingsworth (Westminster), Jacob Sprague  (Randolph) and Jordan Shustack (Boyertown PA).

In the second game the Club Team mercy ruled Harvard 10-0.

Luke Russell (Duxbury) pitched 4 solid innings and picked up the win. Drew Gallant got the final 3 outs. Leading the hit parade with 11 HH's (hard hits) in 5 innings were Kane Curtin (New Canaan, CT), Jordan Shustack. Kane made an outstanding catch in right field in the 4th inning.
